About Friends of the Children

Children born into poverty are at risk for dropping out of school, substance abuse, incarceration and teen parenting. Friends of the Children provides a salaried, professional mentor, called a Friend, for their entire childhood, from kindergarten through high school graduation.


Friends of the Children selects youth facing the highest risks to help them change their stories.
